House in Guincho

Located between the mountains and the sea, this house in Guincho was developed from an existing building, a restaurant. The perimeter of the original construction was maintained. On the other hand, the interior was significantly altered to ensure habitable conditions.

The project consists of a main volume and an annex which are on platforms at different levels with access via several staircases. The entrance to the main volume is to the south, where the social spaces are also located: kitchen and living room. The more private spaces, namely the bedrooms, are to the north, with one suite facing west and the other two to the east. The annex has an office, a technical area, storage and also a suite. There is also a swimming pool on the same platform. 

Inserted in a natural area, nature conservation and the possibility of enjoying the surrounding area played a key role in the redesign of these spaces.
